(to the tune of Happy Birthday).......that's what the wife was singing to me when I woke up this morning.
I picked up my raffle Glock 23 today and I have to admit it's feels pretty nice in my hand. I may decide to keep it after all, but will try it at the range first. I already have two offers to buy it if I decide not to keep it.
Since I don't have another weapon in .40, stopped by WalMart today to pick up some ammo. Got a box of Winchester 100 rnds for $32.97, which was not cheap, but reasonable.
Will report back on how it shoots in a week or two..........

I could hear you guys whispering about me in the background, so I finally made it to the range today to fire my Glock 23......
I understand this gun was designed to be a backup so it is a bit smaller and lighter than my other pistols, but combined with the .40 caliber rounds, I found it was not that fun to shoot. I did ok with it once I figured it shot a bit low and to the right, put every round into the colored center-mass head and chest areas. The white outline sights are easy to sight. Overall, it's accurate enough but not my cup of tea. The trigger creep was long, but I'm used to that because of my 92F, so that was not a problem. I guess with the amount of recoil I wanted a slightly bigger grip so I can hang on better. This is the Gen 3 model, so it does not have the adjustable backstrap like the Gen 4. I put 100 rounds through it today and am sure that I want to sell it. I emailed my supervisory PIO at the CHP today since he was the first to ask about buying it, so we'll see.
So far I have tried out the Glock 19 and this one, and I don't want to own one. I know there are those that swear by them, but I guess Glock is not for me.
Now, is there something else that I want to get......................?

Well one would think dirtyharry might consider all other calibers and handguns inferior to the Most Powerful Handgun in The World, but the times they are a changing. Plastic works, cop killer bullets have had their day, 10mm has gone the way of the dodo bird, accessory rails to hole a flashlite or laser on your piece, 357 sig from 40, 40 from 10mm, 44mag from 44 special, 357mag from 38 special, 22 jet from 357 mag, you get the idea. All good, some better than others. Now consider
what 105 years of refinement can put in your hand. The ZRX of the pistol world.
